1201 - Kalanchoe

Kalanchoe has become one of my favorite genus of succulents, this species quite happy in our gardens, its leaves turning dark blue, then pink, as it sends up foot-long, pink flower stems.

When the bell-shaped flowers open, their interior will be bright orange.

Hello, Karin!

I did an image search online, and I believe it's Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi. In Northern California, this kalanchoe is very common at nurseries.

Once you have some in your gardens, it is very easy to propagate.

It likes great drainage and half sun, preferably morning sun. It takes a year to settle in, then gets 14" tall and produces lots of flowers.

Best,

Michael
